Our Day at the Riccarton Market

Today was our first proper foray into holding a market stall. That's my mother, Vivienne, surrounded by all the many things we have been busy crafting for the last few months. We have always enjoyed a trip to the Riccarton Rotary Sunday Market, so a few months ago I hatched a plan. The weather today was marvellous, the market meticulously organised, and the people flowed through the gates for a browse and stroll in the sunshine. After tussling with the pergola - much to the amusement of the market's 'old hands' - and sorting through the aprons, we were ready for the influx. Mum's aprons looked great, and my cushions, crafty rats, bunting and crochet blankets were much admired.

It was great to get so much positive feedback about our little hobby.

Even my hastily constructed signage looked the part.
"Yes darling, I know it seems ridiculous painting a sign at 9.30 pm the night before."

We are going back next week, so if you're planning a Sunday outing we would love to see you there.
